A Cincinnati Bengals player appeared to try hiding something from his teammates' view on the sideline - but was caught on camera in a hilarious moment.

The Bengals hosted the Detroit Lions on Sunday in a lopsided defeat which may provide a glimpse into how this season will go without starting quarterback Joe Burrow.

But a lighter moment in that game arrived when the cameras panned to the sidelines and caught a player trying to be covertly cloaking something.

A player who was not in uniform, but instead wore a team issue hoodie and sweatpants, was seen glancing around as he fumbled with the package of a sideline snack.

The unidentified player was giving side-eye glances as he shoved a few packets of goodies into his pockets. Eventually, he slowly brought what appeared to be a pretzel to his mouth and quickly popped it in.

Fans couldn't help but laugh at the situation, with many recalling times they were forced to share their food with others.

The struggling Bengals fell to the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon, losing 37-24

'Y'all mfers never had a pack of gum at school and it shows,' wrote one user on X.

Another commented, 'You won't understand if you haven't been poor with siblings.'

One user said the video felt 'Like being in high school all over again', while another remarked, 'Bro knows he's gonna have to share cmon now'.

Another comment said that he may be trying to hide his treats, 'Because teams that get beat by 40 don't deserve snacks on the sideline.'

Well, the Bengals didn't get beat that bad... but they didn't quite look great either.

Cincinnati may have lost by only 13 points, but they were trailing 28-3 going into the fourth quarter.

Eventually, the team scored three touchdowns to make things slightly closer, but Detroit managed a touchdown of their own plus a safety to get to the final score.

Cincinnati's disgruntled fans have not been too happy with backup quarterback Jake Browning, with many calling to make a trade for another signal caller.

Speaking to NFL.com's Nick Shook, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor couldn't commit to Browning to start Week 6 on the road against Green Bay.

'We'll see where it goes,' Taylor told the league's outlet. 'Like all personnel decisions, we've got to evaluate it. Jake's been very accountable for how the game went for him. I've got to be accountable for how the game went for me, as well. So we'll continue to progress here through the days.'
