TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Commission IV of the House of Representatives (DPR) RI will form a Working Committee to resolve the case of sea fences scattered in Jakarta bay. Commission IV member Slamet said the committee would involve the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) as the authorized party to handle this issue.
"We from Commission IV have agreed to streamline this work, especially KKP. We will form a working committee," Slamet told Tempo at the House of Representatives Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
Slamet said that the plan to form the committee will be presented in a meeting with the Ministry of KKP today, Thursday, January 22, 2025.
He said that the committee formation is expected to accelerate the investigation of the sea fence case that has disturbed the public. Slamet hopes that after the working committee is formed, the DPR RI leadership can agree on forming a Special Committee or Pansus to resolve this case into law.
Slamet said that his party is currently trying to encourage the formation of a Special Committee related to this sea fence. Because, according to him, the work of the working committee is still limited. Meanwhile, the sea fence case involves many ministriesthat are not under Commission IV's supervision.
"That's why we encourage the Special Committee. But at least we will form a committee first tomorrow," he said.
Previously, Chairperson of Commission IV of the House of Representatives Siti Hediati Hariyadi alias Titiek Soeharto summoned the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono regarding the follow-up of the mysterious sea fence case along 30, 16 kilometers in the waters of Tanjung Pasir, Teluk Naga, Tangerang, Banten. Titiek said the meeting with the KKP Minister would be held Thursday, January 23, 2025.
"Tomorrow is a meeting with the Minister of KKP," Titiek said when met at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
Titiek said the meeting would discuss the follow-up to settling the mysterious sea fence case in Tangerang waters. She also ensured that her party would continue to oversee this case.
In addition to holding regular meetings with the Ministry of KKP, Titiek said that her party could again review the sea fence area to ensure that the settlement of this issue goes accordingly. She also asked the public to report to the authorities if there was any abuse while resolving the sea fence case.
Furthermore, Titiek said her committee would also oversee the prosecution of Building Rights Title (HGB) and Property Rights (SHM) certificates over the sea fence, which are formally and materially flawed. He also asked the Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning or Head of the National Land Agency (ATR / BPN), Nusron Wahid, to discipline those violating these rules immediately.
"So those who violate the law plot without permission, of course, we from Commission IV ask that this be resolved and disciplined immediately," he said.
