Colorado football coach and legendary Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders is still battling health issues after beating bladder cancer, as he revealed to reporters after Saturday's loss to TCU in Fort Worth.

'Cat's out of the bag, all right. I think I've got more blood clots,' Sanders said. 'It don't make sense. I'm hurting like crazy. ... I'm not getting blood to my leg. That's why my leg is throbbing.'

Sanders, who had some of his toes amputated in 2021, needed to sit periodically throughout the Buffaloes 35-21 loss to the Horned Frogs.

The 58-year-old father of Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders plans to see a doctor Monday about the issue.

'Sorry to get that out, but thank you for noticing,' he said when asked about his health.

Sanders' latest health problem comes after off-season surgery to treat bladder cancer. The procedure, which was deemed a success, reconstructed Sanders' intestine to function as a bladder.

Deion Sanders is seen standing on the sideline Saturday, although he also had to sit at times

A former outfielder for MLB's New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco Giants who was also an elite sprinter at Florida State, Sanders had an on-field portable toilet installed on the Buffaloes' sideline this season.

Colorado is now just 2-4 and winless in the Big 12 after blowing a 14-0 lead in each of the last two weeks.

'Truly disappointing,' Sanders said. 'It's one thing to lose. Then it's another thing to feel like you beat yourselves.

'We were beaten in Houston. These other games, we had opportunity, ample opportunity to win the games.'

The Buffaloes can get their season back on track Saturday in Boulder against No. 14 Iowa State.
