The mastermind behind Everton's stunning Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium wants to design a new home for Birmingham City.

World-renowned US architect Dan Meis created the Premier League side's landmark replacement for Goodison Park on the banks of the River Mersey.

And while Everton only moved in at the start of the season, the 52,769-capacity venue has already won rave reviews thanks to its acoustic-driving design and nods to history.

Daily Mail Sport can reveal that Meis has now set his sights on creating a state-of-the-art stadium for compatriot Tom Brady and his fellow Blues owners.

NFL legend Brady and Tom Wagner, from Knighthead, want to build a new Sports Quarter in Birmingham, with billions earmarked for a vast project which includes a sports campus and training facilities.

At its heart would be a 62,000-capacity stadium for the ambitious Championship club.

And Meis, who has masterminded a host of new venues across North America, Asia and Europe, wants to be tasked with making it a reality.

Speaking on enemy territory in the city at the SVB conference at Villa Park today (MON), he announced that his firm AECOM is 'on the hunt' for both the new Quarter and stadium project.

Meis was talking to delegates about Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium and was asked what he had in the pipeline. 'Obviously there's the Birmingham stadium project and we're in the hunt for that,' he responded.

Meis' openness could be seen as unusual, given non-disclosure agreements and discretion are often part of the process for stadium design tenders.

In June, Wagner told BBC Sport his vision was to create 'an entertainment venue unlike many others in the world'.

He added that a 62,000-seat stadium and 15-20,000-capacity arena would also feature with the aim 'to host a whole range of international events not solely in football but [including] American football and rugby'.

Blues have said the stadium itself, which would double the current capacity at St Andrews, would include a retractable pitch that would allow for increased usage, including concerts.

A year after their 2023 takeover, Brady and Wagner's Knighthead bout the 48-acre former Birmingham Wheels motorsport site in Bordesley, less than a mile away from St Andrews and the city centre.

Owned by the council, more than £17m of the government's levelling up fund has been allocated for remediation works.

Wagner, the Blues chairman and Knighthead lead, has estimated the cost at between £2bn and £3bn with the hope of a new stadium opening for the 2030-31 season.
