Former NFL defensive tackle Warren Sapp was caught in a rather unique routine ahead of Saturday's game.

The Hall of Famer, who now works as a defensive pass rush coordinator for Deion Sanders' Colorado Buffaloes, was on the field before the team's 35-21 defeat to the TCU Horned Frogs.

Yet, amid his coaching duties, the 52-year-old was seen carrying out a bizarre routine in the endzone.

Sapp was captured wandering around the endzone inside Amon G. Carter Stadium and kicking over the pylons in each corner.

Sports reporter Romi Bean, who shared a clip of Sapp's bizarre act, described it as the Super Bowl winner's 'pregame tradition.'

However, fans were left perplexed by the move with many describing it as 'petty' and 'silly' on social media.

'Someone needs to tell all these ex players on Colorado staff that they’re not playing anymore an it’s not about them,' one social media user scathed. 'Walking around with headphones on chest puffed out kicking over stuff isn’t helping your players prepare for a game.'

'Bro don’t even play anymore. Anything to stay relevant,' another posted.

'This is why we suck, one Buffaloes fan wrote, as another asked: 'Why? I don’t like this…'

'Kicking pylons and taking L’s. Congrats Warren,' one sarcastically penned.

'Same mentality as my two year old,' chimed in another, while one questioned: 'Does he realize he’s a coach now?'

During his 13-year career in the NFL, Sapp earned seven Pro Bowl nods and made the First-team All-Pro four times.

He spent nine seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, helping the franchise win its first-ever Super Bowl in 2003, before finishing his career with the Oakland Raiders.

However, after retiring in 2007, Sapp has found himself caught up in controversy. In 2015, he was accused of domestic violence.

Fans were perplexed by the move with many describing it as 'petty' and 'silly' on social media

Sapp allegedly threw his girlfriend Chalyce Moore to the ground, bit her finger so hard it bled and swelled and stepped on her head.

He pleaded no contest in Las Vegas Justice Court to one misdemeanor domestic violence charge.

A judge fined Sapp $345 and ordered him to pay $2,555 in restitution, log 48 hours of community service and six months of counseling, and stay out of trouble for six months. Two other misdemeanor domestic violence charges were dismissed.
