TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati was previously rumored to host the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). However, the Head of the Ministry of Finance's Bureau of Communication and Information Service, Deni Surjantoro, denied the news.
Earlier, images of the charity schedule of the Helping Hands Group circulated, which indicated that the finance minister would have dinner with the former Real Madrid player. The circulated image mentioned that Ronaldo would attend a dinner with Sri Mulyani on Tuesday night, February 18, 2025.
"Regarding the circulating information about the planned meeting between the Minister of Finance and Cristiano Ronaldo, it is hereby conveyed that the news is not true," said Deni in an official statement on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
According to Deni, the agenda is not currently included in the schedule. "The Minister of Finance or the Ministry of Finance has never planned, invited, scheduled, or arranged the meeting," he said.
The footballer known as CR7 is scheduled to arrive in Indonesia today. The Governor's official of East Nusa Tenggara, Andriko Noto Susanto, said Cristiano arrived in Jakarta on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, and then departed for Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
