TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy Minister (Wamen) of Public Works (PU) Diana Kusumastuti plans to relocate houses on the banks of the Ciliwung River in the Puncak area, Cisarua, Bogor Regency. The relocation is carried out in the context of river normalization to minimize the occurrence of floods.
"In Cisarua, I have also been there. This area must be reorganized for the placement of houses and house permits," she said at the Presidential Palace, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.
Regarding this relocation, Diana will communicate with the local government. In addition, Diana has also communicated with the Minister of Housing and Settlement Maruarar Sirait or Ara regarding permits for houses around the riverbanks. "I have also spoken with Mr. Ara. Maybe later we can also help with the relocation of houses," she said.
Flash floods in Puncak, Cisarua, Bogor, previously resulted in damage to several public facilities, landslides, and loss of lives. Continuous rain since Sunday, March 2, has damaged seven bridge units and caused a resident to die due to being washed away.
The hydrometeorological disaster has affected 1,399 individuals from 381 families. In addition to the Cisarua District in Bogor, water also inundated the Bojonggede District, Rumpin District, and Parung Panjang District.
Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto said that the disaster did not only occur in the southern part of Bogor Regency, specifically in the residential areas of retired employees of PTPN in the Puncak area.
"Not only in the southern region, but disasters also occurred in the central part, namely Citeureup and Bojong Gede, the western part in Sukajaya, the eastern part in Gunungputri. And several other locations that are still being assessed by the field team," said Rudy at his office on Monday, March 3, 2025.
Some of the impacts gathered by BMKG from reports of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of the City and Regency of Bogor as well as social media, include a landslide 6 meters high and 4 meters wide behind a santri (Islamic school students) rest house building that fell into the Ciungun river flow in Lebak sari, South Bogor.
Landslides also blocked the road for residents in the Cipaku area, South Bogor. An 8-meter long, 9-meter high landslide also eroded the foundation of a bridge in Cibalagung Pasir Jaya, West Bogor.
Landslides were also reported around Lemigas Jalan Raya Puncak Bogor, then a flood passed through the Tugu Utara area of Cisarua District, and Citeko Regency of Bogor inundating residents' houses. The landslide that occurred in Citereup severed the bridge connecting to Sukamakmur.
Referring to rainfall observations over three consecutive days, according to BMKG, there has been light to very heavy rainfall in parts of the affected areas. This condition could cause unstable and prone soil, especially on slopes.
BMKG anticipates that in the next three days, there is a potential for rain accompanied by thunder and strong winds in parts of the Bogor Regency and City.
