Jarryd Hayne has been branded ‘Nostradamus’ for his spooky NRL Grand Final predicpetion.

A stunning performance from superstar full-back Reece Walsh saw the Broncos end their 19-year wait to win a premiership, as they overturned a 10-point half-time deficit to seal a 26-22 victory against the Melbourne Storm at the Accor Stadium.

On the eve of Sunday’s thrilling Grand Final, former Parramatta Eels player, Hayne, took to X to deliver his predictions for the NRL’s showpiece match, with the 37-year-old backing fellow full-back, Walsh to pick up the Clive Churchill Medal.

That would come true, with Walsh being awarded the best and fairest medal after he scored a sensational solo try, set up three more for his team-mates and produced multiple incredible moments in defence to deny the Storm the chance to build on their lead during the second-half.

Hayne, who has returned to footy for the first time since 2018 this year, also backed the Broncos to win by five points and came so close to being correct, just missing out on being correct his prediction was just agonisingly wrong by a single point.

Despite that, Hayne also predicted how the match would be won and he came close again.

Former footy player Jarryd Hayne (right) has left some fans on social media stunned with his almost spot on NRL Grand Final  predictions

Hayne backed the Broncos to win by five points and claimed that the Queensland side would come from behind to win

He also backed Broncos star Reece Walsh (pictured) to be crowned this year's Clive Churchill Medallist

‘How good! Last game of the season,’ he wrote on X.

‘Broncos by 5, Walsh = Clive [Churchill Medal].

‘Melbourne to start fast. Hoping Broncs’ are 10 or less behind with 20left. They’ll come home light. Wet sail. They are at their best when they are chasing.’

While Broncos star Deine Mariner would score the first try of the match, Melbourne did, indeed, get off to a flying start, with Nick Meaney quickly cancelling out Mariner’s try with a score of his own, before the Storm went on to rattle off three more tries in the second half.

Hayne also backed the Broncos to come from behind to seal victory, and they did just that, with Walsh, Mariner, and Gehamat Shibasaki all scoring to turn the tide on the Storm.

‘Bloody hell this was almost a perfect Nostradamus call…’ one X user said in response to Hayne’s prediction.

‘On point! Damn!’ one added.

‘Get this guy on the panel of fox knows the game better than the others they have no idea,’ another said.

Fans have been reacting to Hayne's Grand Final call, with one branding him 'Nostradamus' for almost getting his predictions spot on

The former Kangaroos player was released from prison in 2024 after he won an appeal against a rape conviction made against him. He had been sentenced to jail for five years in 2021.

Following a spell working with Fiji back in October 2024, Hayne made his return to the footy pitch with the Wentworthville Magpies in May of this year.

He took to the field in a Ron Massey Cup match and showed no signs of rustiness as he helped the Magpies to seal a comeback win against the Canterbury Bulldogs.

He revealed to Channel Nine that he hadn't missed playing footy until last year.

'I probably didn't miss it until about a year ago and it's been a good break, I've enjoyed it. I love my sport, touch footy, Oztag, I'm always doing something.

'To come out here - they're a good bunch of boys.

'For me, it's about playing footy and having fun again.'
