Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown was lucky not to be ejected from the Chiefs' game against the Jaguars after he struck Jourdan Lewis in the face.

That is according to many NFL fans, who were left baffled after the Kansas City wide receiver escaped further punishment for his role in an angry on-field confrontation.

Brown and Lewis clashed during the first quarter of the Chiefs' visit to Jacksonville. Replays showed the two players shoving each other during and after a play.

As tempers flared at EverBank Stadium, Brown and Lewis then came helmet to helmet before the Kansas City wide receiver hit the cornerback in the head.

Brown was penalized for unnecessary roughness, with the flag costing the Chiefs 15 yards. But many football fans felt that was too lenient.

'Someone’s gotta explain how you can punch a guy and not get ejected, especially with replay assist and especially with Hollywood Brown doing it right in front of an official,' one wrote on X.

'How is Hollywood Brown allowed to stay in the game? He threw a punch!!!' another fumed.

'How is Hollywood Brown now thrown out of the game????' a third asked. 'WTF (what the f***) do they consider a punch?'
