TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Garuda Indonesia and Citilink transported more than 1.1 million passengers during the Eid al-Fitr travel period from 14th to 29th of March, 2026. The details are 501,336 passengers for Garuda Indonesia through 3,297 flights, and 681,162 passengers for Citilink through 4,357 flights.
The Director of Operations of Garuda Indonesia, Dani Haikal Iriawan, stated that the overall seat load factor (SLF) for Garuda Indonesia Group reached 86 percent. "This reflects the consistency in the growth of travel demand during the Eid al-Fitr period," Dani said in a written statement on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
Dani mentioned that routes with the highest traffic were dominated by domestic routes, such as Jakarta-Medan, Jakarta-Banda Aceh, Surabaya-Denpasar, Jakarta-Pangkal Pinang, and Yogyakarta-Denpasar. Meanwhile, for international routes, the highest traffic was recorded on Jakarta-Amsterdam, Jakarta-Madinah, Jakarta-Jeddah, Jakarta-Haneda, and Denpasar-Tokyo.
During the peak season of Eid al-Fitr in 1447 H/2026, the Garuda Group also recorded an on-time performance (OTP) of 92.08 percent. This marks the highest achievement in the last three years during the Eid al-Fitr period.
"This achievement reflects a significant improvement compared to previous periods, where OTP was recorded at 87.12 percent in Eid al-Fitr 2025 and 86.07 percent in Eid al-Fitr 2024," said Dani.
Dani stated that this achievement is a strong indicator of consistent improvement in operational performance, especially in managing high flight intensity during the peak season.
Dani mentioned that this achievement was supported by a comprehensive operational strategy, ranging from optimizing fleet readiness, personnel readiness across all service lines, to intensive coordination with regulators and relevant stakeholders.
