Hilarious moment 'raging' Dominic Calvert-Lewin is told by referee his goal was taken off him after team-mate's tiny deflection

Leeds forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave a hilarious reaction to being told his side's second goal had been taken away from him on Monday night.

The Whites thumped Newcastle 4-1 in a stellar performance at Elland Road, with four different players, ultimately, on the scoresheet for the home side.

Calvert-Lewin scored the third goal, but thought he had also netted the second when he headed in from James Justin's cross.

But replays showed his header came off team-mate Jayden Bogle, and the full back was officially credited with the goal.

Sky cameras managed to capture the exact moment Calvert-Lewin was told the goal wasn't actually his, with his face dropping in disbelief when he was told by an official at half-time.

'The ref told me at half-time they gave it to Jayden,' he said on Sky Sports after the match. 'I didn't even know he was there as I got up early and bang. I'll take the assist.'

Bogle, meanwhile, said: 'I didn't know anything about it. I said to the ref I didn't fancy telling him at half-time. Even during the game he was still a bit raging. He's happy with the points though.'

And the saga carried on after the game. Calvert-Lewin and Bogle posed for a snap together, with the forward writing: 'He's told me that it didn't touch him. How do I appeal this scandalous decision?'

He also tagged the Premier League.

Calvert-Lewin would later finish well from Tarik Muharemovic's pass, making it 3-0 to his side. Lewis Miley's own goal opened the scoring and Noah Okafor's finish made it 4-0 before Bazoumana Traore netted a late consolation.

The result moved Leeds up to third in the Premier League, with Newcastle sat in 12th.
