TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta has been chosen to host the World of Coffee (WoC), held at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC) on May 15-17, 2025. The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), the Coffee Association of Indonesia (SCAI), and Exporum Inc. will collaborate to ensure the success of this event.
This year marks the first time WoC is held in Indonesia and the second time in Asia. Last year, WoC was held in Busan, South Korea. The selection of Indonesia as the host of this exhibition is related to Indonesia's position as the fourth largest coffee producer in the world, and for the first time, WoC is being held in a country that plays a significant role as a producer. Undoubtedly, this will provide a new experience in this prestigious exhibition.
Quoting from the official website of World of Coffee Jakarta, Daryanto Witarsa, Chairman of SCAI, stated that World of Coffee Jakarta 2025 reflects unity and innovation, showcasing the richness of traditional and the commitment to the excellence of Indonesian coffee. "As the first organization in Southeast Asia, this exhibition marks an important moment in the global coffee world, where tradition harmoniously blends with modernity, and enthusiasm drives progress," he said.
Showcasing Coffee from Various Regions in Indonesia
Various types of Indonesian coffee from different regions will be featured, such as from Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, and other areas. The main highlights of this event are the Farmers Village and Nusantara Pavilion. The Farmers Village will be a special place to present coffee from local farmers, expected to reach 35-40 local farmers. Meanwhile, the Nusantara Pavilion will provide a platform for regional governments to introduce the taste of coffee from their respective regions.
In addition, there will be a Trade Exhibition featuring more than 300 participants from 5 countries, including coffee farmers, roasters, baristas, exporters, importers, and coffee equipment manufacturers. There will also be an educational program located in the SCA Lecture Series area, the Cupping Room, and the Brew Bars. For VIP guests and international participants, there will be activities to explore coffee plantations.
The World Brewers Cup Championship will be held at World of Coffee Jakarta 2025. Around 50 countries will participate in this global coffee brewing competition.
This exhibition has been running and open to the public since 1991. Tickets can be purchased at the venue, priced at US$15-30 or Rp250,000 to Rp500,000 per person. World of Coffee is expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors from both domestic and international regions.
