'You would expect...'

By Chris Wheeler At Metlife Stadium

It will be interesting to see how much the MetLife Stadium fills up over the next 20 minutes.
There were plenty of empty seats for the first game between Bournemouth and Everton, and you would expect a few more fans for United's clash with West Ham which is estimated to have sold 50,000 tickets.
The weather is certainly a lot better today after the high humidity that led to Friday's storms and caused United's flight from Chicago to be delayed by two hours.

Amorim: 'We have a new start'

By Dan Davis

Man United boss Ruben Amorim, speaking to NBC:

If I had started at the beginning of this season, it would have been a mistake. So I think now we have to use all those mistakes we did in those six months to start in a different way. I will try use all the information.
It was really tough on everybody at the club, all the changes with staff inside the club.
It was hard, but now we have a new start.

Paqueta future

By Dan Davis

West Ham are ready to cash in on Lucas Paqueta this summer.

Two years ago, Paqueta's dream £80million move to Manchester City collapsed when he was charged with spot-fixing.

However, it is understood that he is now expected to be cleared and as a result, the Hammers are open to selling him for around £30m.

His former club Flamengo are among those interested.

Incidentally, Paqueta is among the substitutes this evening.

Earlier today...

By Dan Davis

In the opening game of this Premier League Summer Series, Bournemouth ran out convincing 3-0 victors over Everton.

Philip Billing and Dango Ouattara put the Cherries two goals ahead within the space of four minutes while Dan Adu-Adjei scored the third.

It's very hot and humid at the MetLife Stadium and that will make for tricky playing conditions when United and West Ham take to the pitch.

A reminder, this game kicks off at 12am BST, so not too long to wait.

Teams in town

By Dan Davis

Both United and West Ham arrived at the MetLife a bit earlier.

Their entry was delayed because they had to pass through metal detectors. You don't get that back in the Premier League.

Mbeumo absent

By Dan Davis

Wow. There is no Bryan Mbuemo in Manchester United's squad.

I'm not quite sure why but perhaps it's to do with his lack of sharpness. He missed out on training sessions during his final days at Brentford.

We'll undoubtedly hear from Ruben Amorim on that before kick-off.

Scratch everything I said earlier.

West Ham team news - Bowen starts

By Dan Davis

Graham Potter has also basically gone full strength tonight.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka lines up against his former club while Jean-Clair Todibo and Max Kilman are the centre backs.

Emerson misses out altogether and has been told he can leave.

There are also starts for James Ward-Prowse, Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen while the hulking Niclas Fullkrug is the No 9.

Man United team news - no Mbuemo

By Dan Davis

Cue groans of disappointment from United supporters.

It's a strong starting XI, albeit one missing Bryan Mbeumo. That means Matheus Cunha, Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Hojlund get the nod.

At the back, Altay Bayindir is in goal, followed by a back line of Matthijs de Ligt, Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro.

Amad and Patrick Dorgu look to be the wing backs, with Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo occupying the midfield pivot.

United off target

By Dan Davis

As Mail Sport reported earlier this week, the striker saga at Manchester United is threatening to run until deadline day - again.

As it stands, the club simply can't afford to enter the bidding war for Alexander Isak, Benjamin Sesko or Nicolas Jackson.

By the time they do manage to scrape together the funds, all three of those players could have joined Premier League rivals.

It's a pretty bleak picture, even after the arrivals of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha to the tune of around £130million.

Debut on the cards

By Dan Davis

We're expecting Bryan Mbeumo to pull on a Manchester United shirt for the very first time this evening. We'll find out shortly if he starts.

Ruben Amorim has been very happy indeed with how both Mbeumo and fellow summer arrival Matheus Cunha have settled in.

It's early days but on paper, that's a pretty deadly frontline, minus a trustworthy No 9, of course. More on that in just a few moments...

Let's just say Amorim will be less satisfied with that particular pursuit.
