Sky Sports presenter Martin Brundle was involved in two hilarious mix-ups as he attempted to interview musician Lewis Capaldi during the grid walk at the Singapore Grand Prix.

Brundle, who has become famed for his pre-race grid walks, had finished interviewing Superman actor David Corensweat and turned his attentions to Capaldi.

The presenter appeared to recognise Capaldi on the grid and began speaking to him, starting the interview with 'Lewis, wonderful to see you'.

'I'm his brother,' said the man, who was wearing a cap in response to Brundle.

Brundle replied 'I'm sorry, your his brother' and laughed in recognition of his error, as the real Lewis Capaldi appeared in the background and came to the rescue.

'I'm sorry, he's got a cap on,' Brundle continued through laughter, before asking 'How are you, how are you both' to Lewis.

The Sky Sports presenter was then joined by the real Lewis Capaldi and laughed at his mistake

'Very nice to meet you, a big fan,' Capaldi replied, before the brothers were asked who they were supporting.

'He's here supporting McLaren,' he responded while pointing to his brother, acknowledging he is the biggest F1 fan out of the two of them.

It prompted Brundle to ask 'So he's the musician and you are the driver' to his brother, who responded 'I'm just a guy who's here, that's all', prompting more laughter.

Brundle rounded off the interview by saying 'Well, I'm sorry that I mistaked you, but it's lovely to see you on the grid.'

Just when the chaotic interview drew to a close, Capaldi thanked him and attempted to shake the presenter's hand.

Brundle, who was unaware, turned away to continue the grid walk to leave Capaldi with his hand outstretched.

Reacting to the accidental snub, Capaldi joked 'I'll hold that' and preceded to shake his own hand before bursting into laughter as he walked away with his brother.

The singer took to social media after the incident and quipped 'b***hed by Brundle'.

Fans on social media praised Capaldi's response to the accidental snub by the presenter.

'Accepted the rejection like a true champion,' one fan wrote, while another wrote 'the self handshake' with laughing emojis.

'Leaving him hanging is nasty work,' a third wrote, with a fan adding 'Hilarious…. What a good sport though.'

'Martin Brundle mistaking Lewis Capaldi for his brother and then leaving him hanging is one of the best bits of TV I’ve seen in a while. Lewis seems like a lovely bloke,' another fan added.

The latest classic Brundle grid walk came ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix, which saw George Russell start on pole.
