Paddy Power have announced that they will sponsor the PDC World Darts Championship for another five years.

The Irish betting brand publicised the extension through a humorous video with former PDC chairman Barry Hearn, during which the promoter is faced with two Paddy Power 'marketing experts'.

Hearn is asked if he would be willing to announce the deal by doing the Peter Wright dance, or by bringing Kolo and Yaya Toure in to sing their famous chant often belted out at the darts.

After going through a list of seemingly undesirable options, Hearn then turns to the camera and says: 'How about I just look in the camera and say "Paddy Power have extended their sponsorship of the World Darts Championship until 2031".'

Paddy Power first took the deal to sponsor the iconic event, held at London's Alexandra Palace, in 2023 and have since donated more than £2million to Prostate Cancer UK during the last two events.

They have also introduced a nine-dart bonus, which sees a fan from the crowd and Prostate Cancer UK share a split of £180,000 should a player throw a perfect leg. The funds raised so far have gone towards research into prostate cancer screening.

Paddy Power also launched further initiatives to raise awareness of the disease, messaging men directly through their social media and marketing teams, making 220,000 aware that they were at high risk of diagnosis.

The betting brand have renewed their pledge to get 180,000 men to check their risk of prostate cancer during the 2026 World Darts Championship as part of 'The Even Bigger 180' campaign.

They are also urging the public to enter their Darts of Destiny fundraising challenge - where an entrant will be selected at random for the chance to win £180,000 live on stage at Ally Pally if they can score at least 180 points from nine darts.

A Paddy Power spokesperson said: 'The Paddy Power World Darts Championship is the greatest party in sport and we're proud to extend our sponsorship for another five years.

'We promise we'll keep bringing more excitement, entertainment and unmistakable Paddy Power mischief to the event wherever it's held.

'But above all, we are very proud to be able to use our sponsorship to help the vital and life-changing work Prostate Cancer UK do.

'Our Big 180, Bigger 180 and Even Bigger 180 charity initiatives have become huge, award-winning campaigns and we look forward to continuing to support a push for a world where no man dies of prostate cancer.'

PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter said: 'Paddy Power has had a hugely positive impact on the World Darts Championship over the past two years.

'Their creativity, investment and passion for the sport have elevated the tournament to new heights, delivering an unforgettable experience for fans in the arena and millions watching around the world.

'We are delighted to extend this partnership through to 2031 and look forward to working together to continue growing the event, supporting the players, and using the global platform of darts to raise vital funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.'
