Pati MBG Food Poisoning Victims Rise to 424, Health Agency Says

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of suspected food poisoning victims linked to the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program in Gembong District, Pati Regency, continues to surge. As of Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. WIB, the Pati District Health Office registered 424 individuals exhibiting poisoning symptoms, with 58 patients currently receiving inpatient care across several hospitals.

The outbreak began after students and local residents consumed grilled rice meals distributed under President Prabowo's favorite program at noon on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Symptoms including nausea and diarrhea only manifested the following day, after which the casualty count climbed rapidly.

"A total of 322 individuals were treated on an outpatient basis," Pati District Health Office Head Luky Pratugas Narimo said in an official statement.

Patients Undergoing Inpatient Treatment

A total of 58 MBG poisoning victims in Pati remain hospitalized across four medical facilities:

1. RAA Soewondo Regional General Hospital (10 Patients)

  • 5 students from SMPN 1 Gembong

  • 5 students from MTsN 3 Pati

2. Mitra Bangsa Pati Hospital (15 Patients)

  • 9 students from SMPN 1 Gembong

  • 3 students from MTsN 3 Pati

  • 2 students from MTs Manbaul Ulum

  • 1 student from SDN Gembong 3

3. Keluarga Sehat Pati Hospital (28 Patients)

  • 10 students from SMPN 1 Gembong

  • 9 students from MTsN 3 Pati

  • 8 students from MTs Manbaul Ulum

  • 1 student from MI Miftahul

4. Fastabiq Sehat Hospital (5 Patients)

  • 1 student from SMPN 1 Gembong

  • 1 student from MTsN 3 Pati

  • 2 students from MTs Manbaul Ulum

  • 1 resident from the Anggrek Posyandu (Integrated Health Post)
