TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto held a bilateral meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, January 25, 2025. The meeting, which took place at Hyderabad House in New Delhi, was part of Prabowo's state visit to India.
As quoted by the Presidential Press Bureau, Prabowo arrived at Hyderabad House and was greeted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two greeted each other before taking a photo together in the front yard of Hyderabad House.
Then they moved on to a closed-door meeting at the Nilgiri Room. The meeting discussed strategic issues.
The delegations of the two countries also attended the Delegation Level Talks held in the Gimar Room. In this session, the two leaders and their delegations discussed several cooperation agendas.
After the meeting, Prabowo and Modi witnessed the exchange of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in various fields. In addition, the report of the CEO Forum on the business meeting between the two countries was officially presented to the two leaders.
Prabowo expressed his deep gratitude for his first state visit to India. The Head of State also appreciated the invitation to be the Chief Guest at India's Republic Day celebrations. "Considering that the first chief guest of India's first Republic Day parade was President Soekarno, it is a great honor for me to represent Indonesia tomorrow," Prabowo said.
The series of meetings concluded with a luncheon in the Kedar Room attended by both envoys. Before leaving Hyderabad House, Prabowo also signed the state guest book.
President Prabowo visited India on January 23-26, 2025 for a state visit and to attend the 76th Republic Day celebration of India on Sunday, January 26, 2025, as the Chief Guest.
Accompanying President Prabowo at the event include the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Communications and Digital Meutya Hafid, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and Indonesian Ambassador to New Delhi Ina Krisnamurthi.
