TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A small plane was captured on camera falling and crash-landed on a moving car on the Florida Turnpike, United States on Monday, December 8, 2025. The car driver survived with only minor injuries.
A 57-year-old woman survived a rare and dramatic accident when a small plane crash-landed on top of the Toyota Camry she was driving on the I-95 Turnpike in Cocoa, Florida. The emergency landing was captured on camera and heard in several 911 calls. The car driver suffered minor injuries while the occupants of the plane emerged unharmed.
As reported by USA Today, the Beechcraft 55 plane took off from Merritt Island for a training flight before experiencing a failure in both engines, according to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). With limited options, the 27-year-old pilot attempted to land the plane on the busy southbound lanes of I-95 at around 17:45 local time on December 8.
The video shows the plane descending rapidly towards the highway before landing directly on top of the moving Toyota Camry. The plane bounced twice and then skidded on the asphalt with sparks flying. The crash destroyed parts of the car but the cockpit remained intact.
Emergency calls released by WESH revealed panic at the scene. "A plane just crashed onto a car on a highway!" a caller said. He described how the plane hit a small white car and forced other vehicles to brake suddenly. Another caller informed the officers, "The people in the plane are moving around, there are other cars, they're coming out."
Authorities confirmed that the woman driving the Camry suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The 27-year-old pilot and passenger were uninjured.
Sky News reported that the driver was on her way home from work when the plane directly hit the back of her car. Host James Macpherson commented that the car driver miraculously survived.
The Florida Highway Patrol, FAA, and NTSB have launched investigations into the accident. Federal investigators are examining reports of the failure of both engines that forced the emergency landing on the highway.
