Sophie Cunningham completely rebrands podcast with new partner after ex co-host disagreed with her trans debate

WNBA star Sophie Cunningham has officially rebranded her podcast alongside a new co-host, months after former partner West Wilson publicly disagreed with her take on the transgender athlete debate.

The WNBA star has drawn intense scrutiny – and vocal support – in recent months after vocalizing her ambitions on 'protecting' girls against 'biological men'

Her comments split opinion across the country and sparked rallies at Fever games in the weeks that followed – with protestors from both sides keen to voice their opinion.

Even her former co-host, Wilson, spoke out on the matter, calling transgender women's participation in sports a 'borderline non-existent issue' in a TikTok video. 

Since then, eagle-eyed fans have noticed that their podcast, Show Me Something, had gone silent since July 21, sparking questions over their future as co-hosts.

Now, it's been confirmed that the two have gone their separate ways after the WNBA star announced the rebrand of her podcast, which is now known as 'No Hesitation.'

Cunningham will be joined by new co-host Drew Hanlen as Wilson's replacement.

In a statement, Cunningham said: 'Drew and I love this sport, we could talk basketball all day. Now we will!

'We'll dive into everything around the WNBA and NBA and can't wait to share our thoughts. The Volume has been an awesome partner in making that happen.' 

According to Front Office Sports, changes to 'Show Me Something' had been in the works 'for months' given that their one-year deal was expiring.

However, many fans are left to believe that the split was due to their differing opinion on the debate surrounding transgender athletes in women's sports. 

After Cunningham sparked the fierce debate, Wilson appeared to distance himself from her with a telling video posted on his TikTok account.

Wilson said: 'Transgender athletes in American sports is such a borderline nonexistent issue that right-wingers have convinced a massive portion of people in our country that these people are a threat to sports in America when mathematically, that's not the case at all.'

Wilson went on to argue that political rhetoric around the topic serves primarily to divide the public while isolating transgender individuals.

'There is, like, 10 transgender athletes in all of the NCAA,' Wilson continued. 

'I think there are unique questions that can be handled on individual bases, but to allow this to take our attention from housing, healthcare, wars, all the other actual harmful s*** in our country is dumb.'

The Daily Mail has reached out to West Wilson for comment. 

His remarks came on the back of Cunningham's ESPN interview, where she said: ''I think that I am here to extend love. But I also think with that love is truth, being honest.

'And I want to protect young girls in a locker room, or young girls in sport who shouldn't have to go against biological men.' 

She also pushed back on assumptions about her political affiliation.

'I'm very much in the middle,' she said. 'I agree with things on both sides, disagree with things on both sides. And that's all I've ever said about my political beliefs.'
