The following is the list of the top 3 news on Tempo English today:
1. Iran's Sudden Weather Shift Sparks 'Rain Theft' Theory
Drastic weather changes have occurred in Iran after years of drought. In recent times, the country has experienced heavy rain, snow, and a drop in temperature. Several regions are showing signs of recovery, marked by refilled dams and regrowth of green vegetation.
This phenomenon has been widely discussed on social media, especially among pro-Iran accounts. Several posts show overflowing dams and snow-covered streets, which are described as evidence of significant weather changes in the country.
However, these changes have also triggered various conspiracy theories. Some accounts claim that the weather shift did not occur naturally, but is related to the 50-day war between Iran, Israel, and the United States. They allege that the improved conditions followed Iran's missile destruction of certain radar systems used for remote weather manipulation in the country.
2. Prabowo Assures Compensation for Bekasi Train Crash Victims
Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto has assured that all victims of the train collision in Bekasi, West Java, are receiving optimal medical treatment and will be entitled to compensation from the government.
“Everything has been handled. From what I’ve seen, it has been handled well,” Prabowo said during a visit to Dr. Chasbullah Abdulmadjid Regional General Hospital in Bekasi on Tuesday, April 28, after inspecting victims of the collision between a commuter line (KRL) and an intercity train.
During the visit, the president personally checked on injured victims who are undergoing intensive care at the government-run hospital.
3. Passengers Injured in CommuterLine Train Accident in Bekasi
Several passengers were injured in an accident involving a CommuterLine train and a long-distance diesel train (KRD) at the Bekasi Timur Station in Bekasi City on Monday evening, April 27, 2026, Antara reported.
According to the information obtained, the CommuterLine train was stopped on track 1, heading east toward Cikarang. Moments later, a long-distance train traveling from the west entered the same track and collided with the CommuterLine head-on.
“The CommuterLine was destroyed at the rear. Officers evacuated us immediately," said Heri, a surviving passenger, at the scene.
