Mary Fowler announced on Tuesday that she was putting pen to paper on a new contract with Manchester City until summer 2027.

But it appears several doors may have opened for the 22-year-old Matildas superstar to pursue another career path alongside her footballing journey, after several top Aussie modelling companies were left starstruck by the forward, following her appearance at Paris Fashion Week.

The football star, who is still recovering from an ACL injury, turned heads on the catwalk this week, as she became the first professional footballer to walk the runway in the prestigious Defile L’Oreal Paris show.

An ambassador for the hair care company since 2024, Fowler stunned in a one-sleeved black suit dress and black heels.

Fowler had previously admitted that she was ‘a little nervous’ prior to the event, but she didn’t show it. The 22-year-old strutted her way down the stage confidently before blowing a kiss towards members of the audience.

Fowler was later joined on stage by a host of big names, including the likes of Kendall Jenner, Dame Helen Mirren, Gillian Anderson and Jane Fonda.

Several Australian modelling agencies have heaped praise on Man City star Mary Fowler after she took to the catwalk at Paris Fashion Week

And after her appearance on the catwalk, the footy star has garnered some admirers from the Australian modelling and fashion industry, some of whom have admitted that they are keen to snap up the Man City forward.

Speaking to The Herald Sun, Kathy Ward, the director of Chic Management, said: ‘She [Fowler] did an amazing job.

‘She’s incredibly beautiful and we’d love to represent her if we could.’

Ms Ward conceded that her sporting commitments meant that Fowler would perhaps not be able to commit to modelling full-time. However, she added that other pathways could be pursued if Fowler was interested in doing more modelling work.

‘She has a career in sports so I don’t think she’d be able to model full-time, but I think there is a place for her as a celebrity model and that’s what some brands gravitate towards,’ Ward told the outlet.

Chadwick Models managing director Martin Walsh also praised the 5ft 8in striker.

‘Obviously, an association with L’Oreal and all those other luminaries is a great achievement for her, and she should be very proud,’ he explained to the Daily Telegraph.

He added that while agencies would typically look to employ taller models, Fowler’s height would not be an issue.

One taent manager explained that they would be keen to snap up the Man City star, who this week penned a new contract at the WSL club, which will see her stay at the side until 2027

Her boyfriend Nathan cleary was left starstruck by Fowler's look on the runway, reposting a video of his beau, writing: 'Wowww'

Cleary also appears to have an eye for style, as he turned up to the Dally M awards ceremony on Tuesda wearing a $1,000 pair of Alexander McQueen shoes

‘It’s probably about the minimum height we would go for, really. I think she did a great job on the runway,’ he said.

‘It’s a very daunting thing to go on that runway, especially in Paris and your first show, but under those circumstances I think she did amazingly and she looked terrific.’

Walsh noted that while modelling does take up a lot of time, he added that Fowler could potentially ‘dabble’ in modelling work if she wished.

But it wasn’t just modelling agencies who were applauding the footy star, following her appearance on the catwalk.

Her boyfriend, Nathan Cleary, also took to social media to marvel at Fowler’s look.

He reposted a clip of her walking down the runway, adding the caption: ‘Wowww,’ with two heart-eye emojis.

It comes as the NRL superstar has also showcased he has an eye for style during Wednesday night’s Dally M awards.

Cleary was crowned the 2025 Half-back of the Year, with the footy star taking to the stage to accept the award while wearing a $1,000 pair of Alexander McQueen sneakers.

Fowler has been sidelined since April with an ACL injury that she sustained during City's FA Cup semi-final defeat by rivals Manchester United

Cleary and Fowler are understood to have been dating since August 2023, their romance blossomed after the pair met at an adidas event

The Panthers playmaker paired the classy white shoes with a slick Hugo Boss suit, with an open-buttoned black shirt.

Fowler, meanwhile, has been sidelined since April of this year with an ACL injury she sustained in her side’s Women’s FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United.

The footy star, who has won 64 caps for Australia, explained there were multiple factors that played into her decision to stay at City.

‘City has felt like home for me for quite a while now so to continue this journey with them, I’m really proud to do that,’ the 22-year-old said to City.

‘I’m really excited to continue working with the girls.

‘There are a few reasons for my decision to extend. Enjoying my football is a big part of me playing well and City has created an environment where I can flourish in that sense.

‘I love working with the girls who are here, and I haven’t always had that, so I appreciate that.

‘As my seasons here have progressed, I’ve become a lot more comfortable in this environment and I think I’m the kind of person who plays a lot better when I’m comfortable with the people and coaching staff.

‘I feel like I have that now, I have the good relationships with everyone here and that’s made me feel like I’m at home and has allowed me to be really comfortable out on the field.’
