Travis Kelce endured an awkward exchange with brother Jason on their latest New Heights show, with the NFL star grilled about fiancee Taylor Swift's song about him called 'Wood'.

The track has by far caused the most controversy in the days following Swift's 'Life of a Showgirl' release, with the singer very clearly referencing her partner's manhood.

'It's a great song,' Travis said, as his brother quizzed him about it while trying to keep to a family-friendly tone.

'Do you feel like, err, do you feel...' Jason said, spluttering. 'Not "confident". I'm trying to think of the word. Do you feel cocky about the song wood?'

Travis laughed as he tried to downplay the subject, saying: 'No! Any song that she references me, I love that girl, what do you mean? Any song that she would reference me is -'

Jason interrupted: 'That's not just any song! This is a very specific you. It's an appendage, it's a very specific thing.'

Travis Kelce laughed off Jason's questions about Taylor Swift's new song about him, 'Wood'

It has been the most controversial track following Swift's release of 'Life of a Showgirl'

'No way. What? I think you're not understanding the song.' Travis joked, to which Jason said: 'Jesus Christ, Trav! Come on!

'Redwood tree, it ain't hard to see,' Jason continued, quoting the song. 'I thought redwood was, that's a generous word, I think.

'If someone wrote a song about me it would be "japanese maple, sometimes can see". That song is great though, the beat to that song is fantastic.'

The 'redwood tree' lyric isn't the only sexual reference to Kelce in that new Swift tune.

Strewn throughout the entire song are lyrics about how the Kelce finally broke her unlucky streak in love. She also mentions his 'magic wand' and detailed how 'His love was the key / That opened my thighs.'

Speaking on the Jimmy Fallon show, Swift explained: 'So I brought this into the studio and I was like: I want to do a throwback, timeless-sounding song and I had this idea about "I gotta knock on wood" and it would be all these superstitions.

'And it really started out in a very innocent place... I don't know what happened, man.

'I got in there, we started vibing and I don't know how we got here. But I love the song so much.'

But not all the reaction to Swift's song has been positive in the days since the album dropped

But Jason didn't miss an opportunity to grill Travis about it on this week's New Heights show

But the reaction hasn't quite mirrored the views of Swift and Kelce. Acclaimed music critic Amanda Petrusich wrote in the New Yorker that Swift 'is so weirdly unconvincing when singing about sex' and that 'the song is filled with cringey double entendres'.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, a huge Swift fan, even criticized her for it.

When the album came out last Friday, he said: 'I really did like the song Wood the first couple of times I listened to it - it hooks you right away! You know I'm on message boards chopping it up with the Swifties.

'What is this song about? It's about Travis's d***. And then you re-listen and there's "Redwood tree" and "hard rock". No, I'm not bopping and weaving to a song about Travis' d***.'

He added: ''Without further ado, I have my top five songs from Life of a Showgirl.

'So here we go Number 5, Honey. I like it. Number 4, Eldest Daughter. Number 3, Life of a Showgirl. Number 2, Fate of Ophelia. And my favorite song on the entire album is Opalite.'
