Who is Mark Sanchez?

Sanchez is a former NFL QB and current football analyst, best known for leading the New York Jets to back-to-back AFC Championship Games in 2009 and 2010.

He was born on November 11, 1986, in Long Beach, California. Sanchez played college football at USC, where he helped the Trojans win a Rose Bowl.

His strong performance in college made him one of the top prospects in the 2009 NFL Draft, and he was selected fifth overall by the Jets.

Sanchez spent ten seasons in the NFL - the majority of which was with the Jets, but he also had shorter stints with the Eagles, Cowboys, Bears, and Commanders.

He retired in 2019 and quickly moved into broadcasting. Since leaving the field, Sanchez has worked as a football analyst for Fox Sports.

He covers NFL games and provides commentary, bringing insight from his years as a professional quarterback.

Speaking to the New York Jets back in February, Sanchez said: 'Leading up to game day is still some of my favorite prep work – watching the tape, understanding the teams, understanding their personnel, their plan of attack, understanding their formula to win. That's always fun for me to try and figure out'.

'We're lucky at FOX because we've got great, great people and great teams to help me sift through all that stuff. And I've got a great partner in Adam Amin. And before that, I had a great partner in Kevin Kugler.

'You never have to worry about them. They're always prepared. They've got your back and can set you up for a nice, short dissertation on what happened on a play and how and why that play either worked or didn't work'.

She also recently starred in Glen Powell's American sports comedy television series; 'Chad Powers' which follows 'a former college quarterback attempts a comeback by posing as a walk-on player for a struggling football team'.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter about her role in the movie, Mattfeld insisted that it was perfect due to her relationship with Sanchez and knowledge of football.

'When I read this script, I was like, the fact that my two worlds could be meeting together was amazing - that is what made this my dream role.

'I remember reading the audition sides and talking all that football lingo. It was stuff that I genuinely was like, 'I know this! I know what these mean!' I always surprised myself with how much football knowledge I actually have.'
