TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – After taking office as Chief of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Nanik Sudaryati Deyang has been busy holding meetings with her team. “We are discussing budget efficiency,” Nanik said at a press conference on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
The meetings are frequently held at BGN headquarters on Jalan Kebon Sirih in Central Jakarta. After meeting reporters that Thursday evening, Nanik immediately convened another meeting. Her two newly appointed deputies, Agustina Arumsari and Trenggono, joined the session on the ninth floor of the agency’s headquarters.
On the evening of Tuesday, June 2, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi unexpectedly announced the dismissal of BGN Chief Dadan Hindayana and his two deputies, Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk Pusung. Nanik, 58, who had served as a BGN Deputy Chief, was appointed by President Prabowo Subianto to replace Dadan.
Nanik has long been known as a loyal supporter of Prabowo. During Jakarta’s 2012 gubernatorial election, Prabowo’s Gerindra Party backed the ticket of Joko Widodo and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama. Nanik was among the supporters of the pair. At the time, she was known primarily as a former journalist.
