TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar, and Egypt stated that they welcomed US President Donald Trump's peace proposal to end the war in Gaza.

Citing the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Al Arabiya reported that the foreign ministers welcomed Trump's leadership and his efforts to broker an end to the conflict, expressing confidence in his ability to find a path to peace.

In a joint statement released on Monday, September 29, 2025, the ministers formally endorsed the President's announcement.

Trump's proposal seeks to end the war, rebuild Gaza, prevent the displacement of Palestinians, and advance comprehensive peace. The President also confirmed he would not allow the annexation of the West Bank.

Key Elements of the Peace Plan

Trump's plan calls for a ceasefire, the release of Hamas hostages within 72 hours, the disarmament of Hamas, and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.

Other critical elements include the deployment of a "temporary international stabilization force" and the establishment of a transition authority to be led by Trump himself, alongside former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

The high-ranking Arab and Muslim diplomats emphasized the importance of their partnership with the United States in securing regional peace. The ministers affirmed their readiness to engage positively and constructively with the US and other relevant parties to reach and implement an agreement, thereby guaranteeing peace, security, and stability for the people in the region.

Trump's ceasefire proposal received a mixed reaction from Palestinian factions. Al Jazeera reported that Hamas stated they are studying the US proposal "in good faith."

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Authority welcomed the "sincere and tireless efforts to end the war on Gaza, and affirms its confidence in his (Trump’s) ability to find a path to peace."

However, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) group dismissed the plan as a "recipe for continued aggression against the Palestinian people."
