Tempo.co, Jakarta - The Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN), the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing, and the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Affairs met with President Prabowo Subianto. The three came to report on the progress of the new capital city (IKN).
OIKN Head Basuki Hadimuljono arrived at 2 p.m., followed by Public Housing Minister Maruarar Sirait and the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Affairs, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY).
"I reported on the current progress, not only physical developments but also other aspects. It's not just about the state budget, but also about the PPP (Public-Private Partnership) programs and investments that are ongoing in IKN until now," said Basuki upon his arrival at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
Meanwhile, Maruarar said he received a call from Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya to hold a meeting regarding IKN. "Earlier, I received information from the Cabinet Secretary, Mr. Teddy, about IKN," said the man who is often called Ara.
AHY was not reluctant to discuss this limited meeting.
Basuki stated that OIKN proposed a groundbreaking with an estimated value of around Rp6.9 trillion. The PPP scheme will be used to build roads, residential houses, and up to 107 towers. "The process is almost complete, pending the contract signing," he said.
Basuki mentioned that he had sent an invitation to President Prabowo Subianto for the groundbreaking and inauguration. "The Minister of Public Works (Dody Hanggodo) has already sent a letter for the inauguration. I have sent a letter for the groundbreaking. Hopefully, he can schedule the time," he said.
According to Basuki, the invitation is for the groundbreaking of hotels, office buildings, and restaurants, including residential areas from the Malaysian investor, Citadel. The total value of the groundbreaking is Rp6.5 trillion. However, Basuki said he did not know when Prabowo would be able to attend the IKN groundbreaking.
"As for the schedule, it depends on the President," he said. "(The invitation) is open. But we are ready now. So he can go there anytime for the inauguration."
