TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Logistics Agency (Bulog) is making preparations to provide premium and medium rice to support the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG). The President Director of Bulog, Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, emphasizes that the state-owned company's duty is to provide rice in accordance with the Presidential Instruction.
"So, in accordance with the Presidential Instruction, Bulog prepares basic ingredients, especially rice. And in the Instruction, it is mandated that the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is to absorb Bulog's rice," said Ahmad after a meeting at the Ministry of Health, Jakarta, on Thursday, October 2, 2025, as quoted from Antara.
He ensures that Bulog distributes rice to all districts and cities according to the needs of the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG).
"Not all of them are using Bulog's rice, but we are pushing for them to in accordance with the Presidential Instruction," he said.
Bulog also prepares an integrated team to distribute rice to the free nutritious meal providers. "Hopefully, with this integrated team, in accordance with the plans of the Presidential Regulation and Instruction, the distribution of Bulog's rice will also go through MBG," said Ahmad.
Currently, Bulog manages 3.9 million tons of government rice reserves to support the free meal program.
