TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Seven months into the year, Global Citizen Solutions unveiled its edition of the strongest passports in the world, featuring big European nations.
In its fifth edition, the establishment includes three major categories to rank 199 countries, spanning mobility access, investment attractiveness, and quality of life. As a result, the top ten strongest passports in the world primarily come from the European continent, with Singapore becoming the only Asian country on the list.
What are the strongest passports in the world?
Based on the data released by Global Citizen Solutions, here are the top 10:
- Sweden
- Switzerland
- Finland
- Germany
- The Netherlands
- Denmark
- Ireland
- United Kingdom
- Norway
- Singapore
According to Patricia Casaburi, CEO of Global Citizen Solutions, Europe's strongest passports stand out not because they lead in a single category, but because they deliver a well-rounded combination of benefits.
While countries such as Singapore may offer greater visa-free travel and some Gulf and Asian nations excel in investment appeal, Europe's top-ranked passports pair extensive global mobility with an exceptional quality of life, giving the region a unique advantage.
On the other hand, the United States, which topped the Global Passport Index in 2021 with its highest-ever score, has seen a significant decline in recent years. After dropping to 14th place in 2025, the U.S. recovered slightly to 12th place in the 2026 rankings.
