TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi, India, launched the E-Arrival Card facility on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. This digital system replaces the traditional paper disembarkation card, aiming to simplify the arrival process for international passengers.
Foreign tourists arriving at IGIA can now submit their arrival details online, which will significantly reduce queue times at immigration counters and support environmental sustainability by cutting down on paper usage.
Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO of Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), which operates the airport, stated that this initiative reflects the Indian Government's commitment to providing a hassle-free, world-class travel experience while promoting sustainable practices.
"By digitizing the arrival card process, we are enabling faster clearances, shorter waiting times, and greater convenience to enhance the overall passenger experience," Jaipuriar said, as reported by the Indian Express.
How to Get the E-Arrival Card
Travelers can fill out their arrival information online through official government and airport platforms, including:
- The Immigration Bureau website
- The Visa India website
- The 'Su-Swagatam' mobile application
- The Delhi Airport website
The form can be submitted up to three days before arrival, ensuring a smoother entry process after landing.
The previous manual arrival card often caused delays and long queues at counters. By transitioning to online filing, passengers are expected to pass through immigration processes much more swiftly, which will directly support smoother arrival experiences, especially during peak travel seasons.
This move follows the launch of similar e-arrival systems at major international airports in countries such as Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, and Malaysia.
The E-Arrival Card is the latest initiative to improve efficiency at IGIA, following the implementation of the Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveler Program (FTI-TTP) in June 2024. That program offers faster, secure, and smoother visa processing for Indian citizens and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders.
