TEMPO.COJakarta - The Indonesian Ministry of Finance reported that as of January 31, 2026, the government had withdrawn new debt totaling Rp127.3 trillion. This figure represents 15.3 percent of the total government debt target set in this year's state budget (APBN), which is expected to reach Rp832.2 trillion.

Deputy Minister of Finance Juda Agung stated that a significant portion of this debt financing is supported by funding from the State Securities (SBN) market. "This figure is lower compared to last year, which stood at 23.7 percent of the APBN target," he noted during a press conference on the APBN Kita in Jakarta, on Monday, February 23, 2026.

Overall, Juda explained that total budget financing as of January 31, 2026, reached Rp105.06 trillion, or 15.2 percent of the APBN target. Budget financing serves as the accumulation to cover the budget deficit, derived from both debt withdrawals and non-debt financing or investments.

Meanwhile, this year's budget deficit is targeted at Rp689.1 trillion, an increase from last year’s target of Rp616 trillion. Juda ensured that the current budget financing remains on track and its credibility is maintained.

Based on the State Budget for the 2026 fiscal year, or UU APBN Number 17 of 2025, this year's debt financing is targeted at Rp832.2 trillion. This figure has increased relative to last year's debt target of Rp775.9 trillion.

Overall, the total government debt position based on the Ministry of Finance's latest data as of December 31, 2025, reached Rp9,637.90 trillion. Government debt is dominated by State Securities (SBN), which account for 87.02 percent of the total.

Out of the total current government loans, the portion of debt sourced from SBN is Rp8,387.23 trillion. The remainder consists of debt from various loans amounting to Rp1,250.67 trillion.
