TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Ministry of Finance is considering resuming the disbursement of wage subsidy assistance (BSU) in the third and fourth quarters of this year, according to Riznaldi Akbar, analyst at the Directorate General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy.
Riznaldi said the previous round of BSU distribution had helped sustain household purchasing power. The government last disbursed the subsidies in June and July 2025, providing eligible workers with Rp600,000 in total cash aid, or Rp300,000 per month.
He noted that the ministry is currently designing the continuation scheme, although no official decision or disbursement schedule has been released.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Manpower confirmed that it has not yet received instructions from the Ministry of Finance regarding the next phase of BSU.
“We have not received any decision from the Ministry of Finance,” said Indah Anggoro Putri, Director General of Industrial Relations and Social Security, on Friday, October 3, 2025. She explained that her ministry is responsible for distributing the aid once a decision is finalized.
The government has set strict eligibility criteria for BSU recipients:
Must be an Indonesian citizen with a valid national identification number (NIK).
Registered as an active participant in the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan social security program under the Wage Recipient category as of April 30, 2025.
Earns a monthly salary of no more than Rp3.5 million.
Priority is given to workers who have not received assistance under the Family Hope Program (PKH).
Not employed as a civil servant, a member of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, or the Indonesian National Police.
