TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Indonesia’s Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has confirmed that two echelon I officials at the Finance Ministry, Febrio Kacaribu and Luky Alfirman, have been removed from their positions.
Febrio previously served as Director General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy, while Luky was Director General of Budget.
Both positions are currently being filled by acting daily officials (Plh), effective Tuesday, April 21, 2026. “They have been appointed as acting officials and have been active since yesterday, with the formal signing completed yesterday afternoon,” Purbaya said at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs in Jakarta on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
Purbaya did not disclose the reasons for the dismissals and said no decision has yet been made on their next assignments. “They will take a rest first. We will later find suitable positions for them,” he said.
Earlier, Purbaya also replaced Masyita Crystallin as Director General of Financial Sector Stability and Development, appointing Herman Saheruddin as acting official (Plt).
He added that the names for the permanent replacements in the three director-general posts will be submitted to President Prabowo Subianto in early or mid-May.
Profiles of the Two Officials
According to the Finance Ministry’s official website, Febrio was appointed head of the Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF) on April 3, 2020. His areas of expertise include economic and business projections, economic modeling, financial and monetary economics, and public policy analysis.
He served in that role until the agency was restructured into the Directorate General of Economic and Fiscal Strategy, which he later led following his inauguration by then finance minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati on May 23, 2025.
Luky began his career at the ministry on March 1, 1995, as a civil servant at the Tax Directorate General. In September 2015, he was appointed head of the Policy Analysis and Harmonization Center at the ministry’s secretariat general, before becoming expert staff for state revenue policy in July 2017.
He was later appointed Director General of Financing and Risk Management in November 2017, and served as Director General of Fiscal Balance starting November 1, 2022. On May 23, 2025, Luky was inaugurated as Director General of Budget.
