TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's Soekarno-Hatta Airport canceled several flights to and from the Middle East following the airspace closure of the region.
"Due to the closure of airspaces of several parts of Middle East, a number of flight bound for the region were canceled," said Pgs. Asst. Deputy Communication and Legal of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Aziz Fahmi Harahap, on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
Impacted flights include Etihad Airways (EY472 to Abu Dhabi), Qatar Airways (QR954 to Doha), Qatar Airways (QR957 to Doha), Emirates (EK357 to Dubai), Etihad Airways (EY475 to Abu Dhabi), Garuda Indonesia (GA900 to Doha), and Etihad Airways (EY473 to Abu Dhabi).
For arriving flights, the Etihad Airways EY 472 from Abu Dhabi to Jakarta and Qatar Airways QR 954 from Doha to Jakarta are listed as 'canceled.'
Fahmi said affected passengers are accommodated in accordance with applicale procedures, including in cancelling travel documents at immigration and connecting with relevant airlines to reschedule flights.
Overall, international routes at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport continue to run safely, orderly, and smoothly in accordance with applicable operational procedures.
Airport management and all stakeholders strive to ensure optimal services both in departure and arrival process, said Fahmi. "Airlines, airport authorities, and other relevant agencies continue to work closely to anticipate various operational dynamics and ensure that safety, security, and services standards are maintained," said Fahmi.
"We urge potential passengers traveling to the Middle East to actively seek the latest information on flight developments or departure status through airlines' official channels or their respective customer services," said Fahmi.
Along this vein, the management of Soekarno-Hatta Airport regularly monitors operational developments across all terminals, especially for international flight services, allowing for swift and accurate handling of any potential obstacles.
