TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto received Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin at Merdeka Palace, Jakarta on Tuesday, June 9 2026. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya conveyed the details of their meeting.

In a written statement the following day, Teddy stated that Budi reported to President Prabowo on the progress of the Quick Win Program (PHTC). "As well as other flagship programs in the health sector that have been accessible to the public," said Teddy on Wednesday, 10th June 2026.

According to Teddy, the first Quick Win program reported by Budi was the Free Health Check (CKG) program. This program has been implemented for more than 70 million people in 2025. This year, CKG has reached more than 42.3 million participants in 38 provinces.

Teddy said that Budi reported that CKG is not limited to the early detection of disease. "Starting this year, the CKG program prioritizes efforts for treatment and healing by Puskesmas (Public Health Center) officers with free medication and monitoring for people with hypertension and diabetes," he said.

Teddy mentioned the second report, which was about the eradication of tuberculosis (TB). Teddy conveyed that the estimated number of tuberculosis cases in Indonesia in 2026 decreased from 1.09 million to 1.08 million. "In line with the increasing detection of cases in the community," he said.

In addition, Budi Gunadi explained the achievements of the quick win program to improve the quality of services in 66 regional public hospitals in remote, outermost, and frontier areas. These public hospitals have been upgraded from Class D to Class C with more comprehensive services.

Teddy mentioned that in 2025, 20 out of 22 regional public hospitals had been completed, 10 of which were operational. As of 2026, four out of twenty regional public hospitals have begun construction. "In 2027, there are still 24 regional public hospitals in the planning," said Teddy.

Minister of Health Budi also reported other flagship programs, including the distribution of 905 primary medical devices to 258 Districts/Cities. "These main devices consist of Cathlab, CT Scan, Mammography, MRI, and Linac," said Teddy.

According to Teddy, the completion of the Jayapura Central General Hospital in Papua, which is ready to be inaugurated by President Prabowo, was also reported. He stated that this hospital will not only serve as a hub for eastern Indonesia but also for the Pacific and Oceania regions.

Furthermore, Minister of Health Budi reported on the progress of the construction of the Central General Hospital in Riau, which has reached 85 percent completion and is targeted to be inaugurated in December 2026. This hospital is expected to reduce the number of people in Riau and its surrounding areas seeking medical treatment abroad.

"For plans, the Minister of Health also reported efforts to revitalize regional public hospitals in 514 Districts/Cities along with their management, as well as the revitalization program for 10,000 Puskesmas, Community Health Centers, and Public Health Laboratories in all districts and villages," said Teddy.
