TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Israel is threatening tens of thousands of people who are still in Gaza City and forcing them to leave. Israel says this is their last chance to escape or face full-force attacks. Israeli Defense Minister Katz wrote in X on Wednesday, 1 October 2025, that anyone who stays will be considered terrorists and terror supporters.

The continuous bombing of Gaza City has leveled the largest urban center in the region. Dozens of people are killed every day, destroying numerous residential buildings and schools. Tens of thousands of Palestinian residents have fled to the southern region, which has often been targeted along the way.

According to Al Jazeera reports, the Israeli military ordered people to leave. However, the refugees were then pursued by military helicopters, drones, and tanks, creating chaos and panic. The main reason why people did not leave Gaza City is the fear and intimidation created by the Israeli military.

On Thursday, 2 October 2025, at least 10 people were killed in Gaza City, and among the Palestinians killed on Thursday were 13 aid seekers in the southern Gaza Strip. The total number of victims attacked while desperate for food during the famine caused by Israel is almost reaching 2,600 dead, with nearly 19,000 injured.

The total casualties of Israel's genocidal war have increased to 66,225 deaths and 168,938 injuries since October 7, 2023. The number of casualties since Israel unilaterally violated the ceasefire in March has now reached 13,357 deaths and 56,897 injuries.

A child was also killed on Thursday by Israeli unmanned aircraft fire in the Ansar area west of Gaza City, according to emergency and ambulance services. Nine people were killed and 13 were injured in an Israeli attack on destitute residents in the central Gaza Strip, a medical source said.

Philippe Lazzarini, the head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), condemned Israel's threat to the Palestinian residents still in Gaza City as a bad sign. The Israeli military will target anyone who cannot or does not want to leave the area.

Trump's Ultimatum to Hamas

To end the war in Gaza, U.S. President Donald Trump urged Hamas to immediately accept his proposed plan. Trump gave Hamas three to four days to accept his plan to end the nearly two-year-old war in the Palestinian territory.

The plan calls for a ceasefire, the release of hostages within 72 hours, the disarmament of Hamas, and the gradual withdrawal of Israel from Gaza. This plan will be followed by the formation of a post-war transitional authority led by Trump himself. Global powers, including Arab and Muslim countries, welcomed the proposal.

A Hamas official said on Friday, 3 October 2025, that the group still needs time to study Trump's plan for Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu supports the plan.

"Hamas is still continuing consultations regarding Trump’s plan... and has informed mediators that the consultations are ongoing and need some time," the official said on condition of anonymity, as reported by Al Arabiya.

Mohammad Nazzal, a member of the Hamas political bureau, said in a statement on Friday that there are some concerns. He said they will soon announce their position on this.

"We are in contact with mediators and with Arab and Islamic parties, and we are serious about reaching understandings," he said.
