TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Government will provide a discounted fare of Rp80 on public transportation during the 80th Anniversary of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) on Sunday, October 5, 2025. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo said the discount is a form of appreciation for the TNI institution in commemoration of its establishment.
According to Pramono, the discounted fares will apply to public transportation managed by the Jakarta Provincial Government, namely Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta. "All will be subject to an Rp80 fare," said Pramono in a written statement on Thursday, September 2, 2025.
Additionally, car-free day on October 5 will proceed as normal, Pramono said. At the same time, TNI will hold the 80th anniversary commemoration at the National Monument, or Monas, Central Jakarta.
The 80th anniversary of the TNI will feature a series of military ceremonies, joint forces demonstrations, parades of troops and modern weaponry, as well as music concerts for the public. The three branches of the armed forces are making preparations for the event.
Head of the Air Force Information Service, Air Commodore I Nyoman Suadnyana, mentioned that a total of 143 aircraft will participate in the celebration. "Others will be on standby as reserves. These reserves are important in case of technical issues before departure," said Nyoman when contacted on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
The aircraft deployed include various types, ranging from Sukhoi fighter jets, F-16, T-50, to the KT-1B training aircraft used by the Jupiter Aerobatic Team (JAT). The Jupiter team will perform eight acrobatic formations. In addition, there will also be transport aircraft, reconnaissance jets, transportation aircraft, and helicopters.
Meanwhile, the Navy is preparing thousands of personnel and equipment to support the celebration of the TNI's 80th Anniversary. Head of the Navy Information Service, Commodore Tunggul, said the preparations have been ongoing since September 22, 2025, involving units of troops and combat equipment.
The deployed equipment includes amphibious tanks, Howitzer cannons, field hospital vehicles, various types of rocket launchers, Navy tactical vehicles, "And not to forget, a number of missiles owned by the Navy," said Tunggul in a written statement on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
A total of 14 thousand Army personnel will enliven the 80th TNI Anniversary. Head of the Army Information Service, Brigadier General Wahyu Yudhayana, explained that the deployed personnel consist of parade units, defile units, ceremony support equipment, and technical support.
