TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Authorities in Jakarta will divert traffic flow during Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's two-day visit on August 3-4, 2026. PM Charnvirakul is slated to meet with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace this afternoon.
"To ensure the event runs smooth and signifies respect, officers will provide security escorts and divert traffic temporarily along several major thoroughfares in Jakarta," said Commissioner Robby Hefados, Head of Operations at the Traffic Directorate at the Jakarta Metro Police, on Monday, August 3, 2026.
Meanwhile, the diverted traffic for state guests are as follows: Jalan Halim Perdanakusuma, Jalan MT Haryono, Jalan Jend. Sudirman, Jalan MH. Thamrin, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Jalan Gatot Subroto, Jalan Gerbang Pemuda, Jalan Asia Afrika, Jalan Sisingamangaraja, and Jalan Trunojoyo.
Robby said traffic adjustments will be implemented only while the Thai PM's convoy is passing through.
Road users planning to travel along these routes are advised to anticipate potential delays or use alternative paths.
First Visit in 15 Years
As reported by Thai media, this marks the first visit by a prime minister of Thailand in 15 years. During this visit, PM Charnvirakul will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkeow.
"This introductory visit, in accordance with the ASEAN tradition, is the Prime Minister's first official visit to Indonesia," the Thai foreign ministry said in a statement.
Thai PM Anutin Charnvirakul will co-chair the 2nd Leaders' Consultation with President Prabowo Subianto to discuss bilateral cooperation across all sectors. This includes security, combating transnational crime, trade and investment, food and energy security, people-to-people ties, and regional cooperation within ASEAN.
The two leaders will also announce the Strategic Partnership Roadmap for 2026–2030. During the visit, the Thai PM is scheduled to preside over the opening of the Thailand-Indonesia Business Forum. He will also deliver a speech at the ASEAN Secretariat on the future of ASEAN.
