TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Reports of missing victims in Glodok Plaza fire have increased to 13 people. Fires broke out at Glodok Plaza on Wednesday night, January 16, 2025, at around 9:30 p.m. Jakarta time.
Until Thursday night, the Fire and Rescue Team (Gulkarmat) was still cooling down the affected areas and searching for the victims.
“Until now at 9:18 p.m., 13 people have been reported missing [by their families or relatives],” said the Head of the West Jakarta Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Task Force, Vitus Dwi Indarto, on Thursday night, January 16.
It was previously reported that eight people—seven women and one man—have yet to return home after the fire at the Jakarta plaza broke out.
The seven women are Ade Aryati, aged 29; Sinta Amelia, 20; Aldrinas, 29; Aulia Belinda, 28; Odina Yukari, 25; Indira Seviana Bela, 25; and Keren Shalom J., 21. The missing man is Deri Sauki, 25 years old.
Since then, missing person reports were filed one after another, including 26-year-old Intan Mutiara and Desty, whose age is not mentioned. They have also reportedly not returned from Glodok Plaza since yesterday.
Other reported missing persons at the Glodok Plaza fire are Zukhi F Rahdja, 42; Chika Adinda Yustin, 26; and Muljadi, 56.
As of Thursday afternoon, the team had found four bodies of fire victims on the 8th floor of Glodok Plaza. However, the acting head of the Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency, Satriadi Gunawa, could not confirm whether the bodies were among the victims reported missing by their relatives.
