TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Italian rider Marco Bezzecchi of Aprilia Racing set the pace in Friday’s MotoGP Mandalika 2025 practice session at Mandalika Circuit, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, clocking 1:29.240 to secure the fastest lap.
Close on his heels was Fermin Aldeguer of Gresini Racing, who surprisingly recorded 1:29.648, earning second place. Pedro Acosta of Red Bull KTM completed the top three, trailing Bezzecchi by just 0.016 seconds.
The session was less kind to 2025 MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez of Ducati Lenovo, who suffered two crashes, first at turn ten and then at turn five, dropping him to eleventh place with a time of 1:30.053.
Marquez will have to start from the first qualifying session (Q1), marking a rare setback as he failed to break into the top ten.
For Marquez, Mandalika Circuit appears to remain a challenging venue, continuing a streak of non-finishes over the past three seasons. His teammate, Francesco Bagnaia, also struggled, finishing 17th with a time of 1:30.496.
Friday’s results set up an intriguing battle for qualifying as riders prepare to vie for pole positions ahead of the MotoGP Indonesia race.

The second free practice, qualifying session, and sprint race for MotoGP Mandalika 2025 are scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025, with the main race set for the following day.
