TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Presidential Palace has spoken up about the recent gathering between President Prabowo Subianto and former President Joko Widodo, or Jokowi, at Prabowo's private residence on Jalan Kertanegara IV, South Jakarta, on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi described the meeting as a regular gathering between the 7th and 8th Presidents. He noted that whenever either leader visits the other's region, they always make time to meet.
"Coincidentally, the 7th President, Pak Jokowi, was in Jakarta. So, they decided to meet for lunch," Prasetyo said on Sunday, October 5, 2025, after attending the Indonesian National Armed Forces or TNI Anniversary ceremony at the National Monument, Central Jakarta.
Prasetyo stated that the meeting, which lasted for more than two hours, covered various national issues, including providing input on several matters. However, Prasetyo did not disclose the specifics of their discussion.
Prabowo and Jokowi's Meeting Details
Jokowi's adjutant, Commissioner Syarif Muhammad Fitriansyah, confirmed the meeting, which took place at 1:00 p.m. yesterday at Prabowo's private residence on Jalan Kertanegara IV, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.
"The meeting lasted for two hours," Syarif said when contacted on Saturday. Syarif also declined to comment on the specific topics discussed.
Their previous meeting occurred when Prabowo visited Jokowi at North Kutai Street No. 1, Banjarsari Village, Solo, Central Java, on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
That visit took place before Prabowo attended the Congress of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) at the Edutorium KH Ahmad Dahlan Building, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta (UMS).
During their July discussion, Prabowo revealed that he had shared stories with Jokowi about his state visits. "I told him about my recent trip abroad. It turns out he also followed the developments," he said.
