TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's state-owned oil company PT Pertamina has partnered with motorcycle communities and online motorcycle taxi drivers to host a public viewing event for the 2026 San Marino MotoGP, building anticipation for the upcoming 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia.
PT Pertamina Corporate Secretary Arya Dwi Paramita stated that Indonesia is set to host the MotoGP again at the Mandalika Circuit from October 9 to 11, 2026.
"This public viewing event is part of the lead-up to the Pertamina MotoGP; it aims to build excitement and a sense of pride that Indonesia will host this world-class event on home soil," said Arya on the sidelines of the 2026 San Marino MotoGP viewing event at the Pertamina Building in Jakarta on Sunday night.
According to Arya, the viewing event is part of the "Road to Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026" series, designed to rally public enthusiasm for the global racing event.
He noted that hosting the MotoGP is not only a source of pride for Indonesia but is also expected to generate positive impacts for the local community in the Mandalika area and its surroundings.
Arya added that the event is expected to drive regional economic growth through the development of sports tourism—a key focus area promoted by the government across various national initiatives.
To support this goal, Pertamina invited over 15 motorcycle communities, two-wheel enthusiasts, and online motorcycle taxi drivers to join the San Marino MotoGP viewing event.
Arya believes that the involvement of two-wheel communities will help boost public enthusiasm for the Indonesian MotoGP, which is returning to the Mandalika Circuit this coming October.
He stated that the support of motorcycle enthusiast communities, local governments, and all segments of society is crucial to the success of the 2026 Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia.
"We recorded the participation of around 15 motorcycle communities—including hobbyist groups—and our friends from the online motorcycle taxi sector also joined us," he said.
Pertamina is once again supporting the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit from October 9 to 11, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen the national motorsport ecosystem. Through the "Road to Pertamina Grand Prix Indonesia 2026" series of events, Pertamina hopes that public enthusiasm will continue to grow, ensuring that the hosting of MotoGP delivers benefits to sports, tourism, and the national economy.
