TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Police have arrested six individuals involved in a network distributing pornographic content through two Facebook groups, "Fantasi Sedarah" and "Suka Duka." The arrested individuals were administrators and active members of these groups, responsible for uploading sexual content featuring women and underage children.
"The six perpetrators were apprehended at various locations across the islands of Java and Sumatra," said Sr. Comr. Erdi A. Chaniago, Head of the Public Information Division of the Indonesian National Police, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
Authorities confiscated several pieces of evidence, including computers, mobile phones, SIM cards, and digital documents such as photos and videos, along with other items related to the case.
According to Erdi, the arrests stemmed from an investigation by the Indonesian National Police's Cyber Team. He said that his team had been monitoring the groups for an extended period due to their distribution of pornographic content involving children and women.
He also did not rule out the possibility that the number of suspects could increase as the investigation progresses.
The "Fantasi Sedarah" and "Suka Duka" groups on Facebook are known to have thousands of members. Erdi emphasized that the dissemination of pornographic content, particularly that involving children, will be dealt with firmly. The police are scheduled to hold a press conference regarding the case at the Indonesian National Police's Criminal Investigation Department on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
