TEMPO.CO, JakartaPresident Prabowo Subianto emphasized to all levels of the government that they should work and manage the budget efficiently. Prabowo made this call when he attended the National Consolidation Conference of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) titled "Towards a Golden Indonesia 2045 with Kadin", held at The Ritz Carlton, Jakarta, on Thursday afternoon, January 16, 2025.

In his speech, Prabowo said that Indonesia is a rich country. Therefore, he said, it is necessary to manage the country well and there is no gap for waste.

"I understand a lot. I understand that every organization, especially those accustomed for years to inefficient and wasteful practices, will try to outsmart us. Ladies and gentlemen, I understand all the techniques," Prabowo said.

Prabowo also said that he believes his government can bring Indonesia to rise with more discipline and efficiency. He says his policies are solely for the benefit of the nation and the people of Indonesia.

"There are no other interests. There is no other orientation. For that, we will not hesitate," he said.

Prabowo is also optimistic that Indonesia's economic growth will reach 8 percent before 100 days of his administration.

"I am only maybe in my third month, leading the government of the Republic of Indonesia and the more I study the state of our economy, the more I feel confident, I feel optimistic, I believe, I am sure, we will reach and maybe even exceed 8 percent growth," he said.

Prabowo said, with his ministers' help, he will surely make surprises in the coming months. He emphasized that the numbers targeted were following science and mathematics.

"That number, that scientific number, is hard to lie about. As long as we do reasonable calculations, 2+2 is 4. Only sometimes in Indonesian politics 2+2 can be 4.5, can be 5, can be 3, but it can be unscientific," he said.
