TEMPO.CO, Jakarta TAIPEI MUSIC EXPO (TMEX) will return from Aug. 27 to 30, 2026, bringing more than 100 music industry professionals from 15 markets and more than 60 exhibiting brands to the Taipei Music Center.

Held under the theme “Tune in to Taiwan. Sync with Asia,” the four-day event will combine a music industry market with JAM JAM ASIA, a festival featuring more than 80 acts from 14 markets across seven stages on Aug. 29 and 30, as reported by Antara.

The event is designed to connect Taiwan’s music industry with international markets while creating opportunities for artists, labels, festivals, managers, digital platforms and music-related businesses to build cross-border partnerships.

Among the participating companies and organizations are Goldenvoice, Live Nation, Fuji Rock Festival, Summer Sonic, YG PLUS, Zandari Festa, MPMG, Zepp, Beggars Group and Secretly Group.

KPop Demon Hunters Team to Headline TMEX Forum

The TMEX Forum will open with members of the creative team behind Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters, including director Maggie Kang, producer Michelle Wong and THEBLACKLABEL songwriter Danny Chung, who voices Baby Saja in the film.

They will discuss how the success of the animated film could influence opportunities for Asian artists seeking to enter global markets.

Grammy-winning mastering engineer Howie Weinberg will also make his Taiwan debut at the event, presenting a session on the sonic aesthetics behind his work on more than 9,000 records.

Other forum sessions will explore festival curation, generative artificial intelligence in music production, international artist marketing and sustainability in live events. Speakers from the United States, Britain, South Korea, Japan and Taiwan will discuss how festivals develop their identities, audiences and international partnerships.

TMEX will also feature discussions involving music technology companies Suno and KKBOX.

TMEX Expands Regional Music Industry Connections

TMEX will use the Taipei Music Center as a B2B2C platform built around five core areas: brand exhibitions, business matching, forums, emerging-talent showcases and fan engagement.

The first two days will be dedicated to industry delegates, while the weekend program will open to the public with showcases and live performances.

The exhibition will also feature regional music export agencies, including Thailand’s Creative Economy Agency, the Vietnam Cultural Industry Development Association, Sounds Australia and Taiwan’s TAICCA.

The platform aims to connect artists and businesses with international curators and buyers while strengthening links among music festivals, record labels, artist management companies, digital platforms and music-related brands across the Asia-Pacific region.

JAM JAM ASIA Brings More Than 80 Acts to Taipei

Running alongside TMEX, JAM JAM ASIA will present more than 80 acts from 14 markets across seven stages on Aug. 29 and 30.

The festival will showcase a broad range of sounds from across the Asia-Pacific, including Japanese city pop, Indonesian metal, Thai indie and Kazakh electronic music.

The lineup includes Japanese city-pop pioneer Taeko Onuki, Filipino American neo-soul artist ((( O ))), Indonesian metal trio Voice of Baceprot, Bangkok rapper Réjizz, Korean Australian rap collective 1300, Seoul indie band HOA, Japanese group ATARASHII GAKKO! and hip-hop producer DJ KRUSH.

HYUKOH will perform with Kuo of Taiwanese band Sunset Rollercoaster, while Taiwan’s lineup also includes math-rock band Elephant Gym and psychedelic rock act Amazing Show.

JAM JAM ASIA will also feature international showcase acts presented in partnership with global festivals and music organizations, including TV Tairiku Ondo from Fuji Rock Festival.

The festival will make use of four indoor air-conditioned halls, a 3,000-capacity outdoor stage, free stages for emerging artists and overnight DJ sessions extending from the daytime program into late night.

With TMEX and JAM JAM ASIA running together, organizers aim to position Taipei as a meeting point for artists, industry professionals and audiences from across the Asia-Pacific music scene.
