TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The platform TikTok has responded to the temporary suspension of the registration mark for electronic system organizers (TDPSE) of TikTok Pte. Ltd. by the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi).
TikTok's management stated that they respect all applicable regulations in the countries where they operate. "TikTok respects the laws and regulations in the countries where we operate," said a TikTok spokesperson in a written statement received by Tempo on Friday, October 3, 2025.
TikTok is also continuing to collaborate with the ministry to resolve this issue. At the same time, TikTok is committed to protecting the privacy of its users.
"We are collaborating with Komdigi to constructively resolve this issue, while continuing to commit to protecting user privacy and ensuring our platform is safe and responsible for the TikTok community in Indonesia," said a TikTok spokesperson.
Based on Tempo's observation at 16:10 WIB (Western Indonesia Time), the TikTok application can still be accessed. Uploading content and live streams are still running normally.
Previously, the Director General of Digital Space Supervision at Komdigi, Alexander Sabar, stated that TikTok was suspended due to its failure to fulfill its obligations in accordance with the law. "This step is a form of firmness by the government after TikTok only provided partial data on TikTok Live activities during the period of the protests on August 25-30, 2025," he said in a written statement on Friday, October 3, 2025.
He stated that there were allegations of monetization of live activities from accounts indicating online gambling activities. The Ministry of Communication has requested data that includes traffic information, live stream activities, and monetization data, including the number and value of gifts.
"We called TikTok directly to request clarification on September 16, 2025, and TikTok was given until September 23, 2025, to submit the requested data in full," he said.
