TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The 80th anniversary celebration of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) at Monas, Central Jakarta, on Sunday, October 5, 2025, will be filled with a busy schedule of events starting in the morning. The activities will commence at 06.00 AM WIB with a troop inspection and aubade performance by the Defense University to welcome the invited guests.
The main ceremony will begin around 08.00 AM WIB (Western Indonesian Time) with trumpet music and the movement of troops towards the field. The President, as the Inspector of the Ceremony, will lead the official procession, which includes troop inspections, honor salutes, a moment of silence, a speech, and command reports. This part is the core of this year's commemoration of the TNI anniversary.
Following the official procession, the schedule will continue with demonstrations of the soldiers' and military equipment capabilities. Air shows, armored vehicle maneuvers, military martial arts, kamikaze drones, building assaults, and a Victory Jump parachute drop will color the sky and the Monas field. The parade of the three military branches and the ground and air equipment will conclude the military session.
In the afternoon, the public will be treated to a popular entertainment stage with performances by several national musicians, such as NDX AKA, Dewi Perssik, and Wali. This event will conclude the entire series of the 80th TNI anniversary celebration that combines the solemnity of ceremonies, defense capabilities, and closeness with the public.
Aside from the military performances, the TNI has prepared various activities for the attending public. The committee will provide free meals, basic necessities packages, and doorprize gifts, ranging from motorcycles, refrigerators, to televisions.
This year's 80th TNI anniversary celebration is the largest in recent years. The TNI will deploy around 133,000 personnel and 1,047 military equipment to enliven the ceremony and parade.
From the thousands of military equipment, it can be outlined that the Air Force, for example, will prepare 119 aircraft and reserves to anticipate technical obstacles. The fleet deployed includes Sukhoi fighter jets, F-16s, T-50s, KT-1B training aircraft owned by the Jupiter Aerobatic Team, which will display eight acrobatic formations, as well as transport, reconnaissance, and helicopter aircraft.
The Navy will deploy units such as the Indonesian Fleet Command (Koarmada) and the Marine Corps. They will participate in the parade, defile, and soldier demonstrations. Several pieces of equipment are also prepared, ranging from Amphibious Tanks, Howitzer Cannons, rocket launchers, tactical vehicles, to Navy missiles.
Meanwhile, the Army is preparing military equipment for a joint defile and demonstration, including Leopard tanks, Harimau, Badak, Marder, MLRS Astros, Caesar 155 mm cannons, Anoa, Maung, ATAV, Bushmaster, and Mistral Atlas missiles. Support will also come from transportation, health, engineering, as well as supply and transport units. From the air forces, the Army will deploy Apache, Mi-17, Bell 412, Fennec, and BO-105 helicopters.
Overall, this year's 80th TNI anniversary celebration promises a grand display of military strength and capabilities for the public to witness and appreciate.
