Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto welcomed Spanish MotoGP star Marc Marquez at the State Palace in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir said Marquez expressed his honor at meeting the Indonesian leader.
“The President met with MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez, who said he was honored to be received,” Erick told reporters at the palace.
Indonesian riders Mario Suryo Aji (Moto2) and Veda Ega Pratama (Moto3) also attended the meeting. According to Erick, Prabowo encouraged both riders to keep pursuing their racing careers, noting that Indonesia holds a MotoGP hosting contract until 2031.
“This is not just about watching MotoGP. It is about nurturing the next generation,” Erick said.
Prabowo also emphasized the importance of boosting sports tourism, which Erick said has already delivered significant benefits. He cited the Mandalika Circuit’s estimated Rp4.8 trillion economic impact, adding that tickets for the 2025 Mandalika MotoGP are nearly sold out.
2. Indonesia's Prabowo Awards Top Civilian Honor to Bridgewater Founder Ray Dalio
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has conferred the Bintang Jasa Utama, one of Indonesia’s highest civilian honors, on Ray Dalio, founder of the hedge fund Bridgewater Associates.
The award was presented during a luncheon at the State Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the medal was given as a gesture of appreciation for Dalio’s contributions and support.
“The President invited Ray Dalio to lunch. At the conclusion of the event, he expressed his appreciation by awarding him the Republic of Indonesia’s highest service medal,” Airlangga explained at the Presidential Palace complex.
3. Prabowo Leads Pancasila Sanctity Day Ceremony at Lubang Buaya
President Prabowo Subianto presided over the commemoration ceremony for Pancasila Sanctity Day 2025 at Lubang Buaya, East Jakarta, on October 1, 2025.
The President, accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, arrived at 07:57 AM. Prabowo wore a blue suit, a white shirt and tie, and a black kufi cap for the occasion.
Prabowo served as the Inspector of the Ceremony. Aviation Colonel M. Amry Taufany was the first Ceremony Commander, while Infantry Colonel Didin Nasruddin Darsono served as the second Commander. Brigadier General Fitriana Nur Heru Wibawa acted as the Ceremony Officer.
The ceremony took place on the field directly in front of the Pancasila Sakti Monument. It commenced with the singing of the national anthem, Indonesia Raya, followed by a moment of silence led by President Prabowo.
