TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) releases an early warning for Greater Jakarta this Friday morning, January 17, 2024. The weather agency warns of moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds from 5:20 to 8:40 a.m. local time.
In Bogor, weather will be rainy in Gunung Sindur, Rumpi, Jasinga, Parung Panjang, and Tenjo regions. Meanwhile, in Tangerang Regency, moderate to heavy rain is expected in Jambe, Kronjo, Sukadiri, Teluknaga, Pakuhaji, Cisauk, and surrounding areas.
The weather forecast also extends to several parts of Jakarta, including North Jakarta (Penjaringan, Pademangan) and West Jakarta (Cengkareng, Taman Sari, Tambora, Kalideres).
Depok City also expects a rainy morning to wet several areas today, including Pancoran Mas, Sawangan, Limo, Sukmajaya, Beji, Cipayung, Cilodong, and Bojongsari.
BMKG also forecasts rainfall in Tangerang City (Benda, Neglasari) and South Tangerang (Serpong, North Serpong, Pondok Aren, Ciputat, Pamulang, Setu, and surrounding areas).
A number of regions across Indonesia received the same early warning from BMKG this morning. On the island of Java, this includes Banten, West Java, and East Java. In Sumatra, the weather forecast extends to almost all provinces, except for West Sumatra, Bengkulu, and Lampung. Other regions include East Kalimantan, NTT, Gorontalo, North Maluku, and Papua.
