TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa threatened to withdraw the Rp18.77 trillion Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) if the Ministry of Housing and Settlement fails to optimally absorb it for the subsidized housing program. "If it is not absorbed, we will take the money," said Purbaya after a mass housing ceremony at Pesona Kahuripan 10, Cileungsi, Bogor Regency, West Java, on Monday, September 29, 2025.
According to Purbaya, if PKP fails to utilize the fund injection optimally, the government should redirect the funds to other, more profitable programs to allow for a swifter economic impact.
But Minister Purbaya remains optimistic that Minister of Housing and Settlement Maruarar Sirait, together with the People's Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera), is able to use the funds optimally. He believes that the ministry can achieve the target of 3 million housing units during the Prabowo Subianto administration to assist low-income communities.
Maruarar Sirait explained that the FLPP subsidized housing quota has increased from 220,000 to 350,000 units. This came with Rp16.5 trillion worth of growth in the Budget Spending List (DIPA), amounting to Rp35.2 trillion. He ensures that the entire quota will be built by the end of 2025.
BP Tapera Commissioner Heru Pudyo Nugroho stated that this quota increase is in line with the high enthusiasm of the public. He emphasized that the quota is not excessive, as the ready-to-build plots uploaded to the developer information system have reached more than 773,341 units, while those ready in stock and awaiting the contract process in the banking sector amount to 41,291 units.
He hopes that more housing developers will participate in building FLPP houses to achieve the subsidized housing target in the country. "This is part of the efforts for major developers to also have a role in building subsidized houses in order to support the achievement of 3 million housing units," said Heru at Menara Mandiri II, South Jakarta, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025.
