TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) reported that the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) advanced 1.93 percent to close at 6,525 this week. The benchmark index had closed at 6,401 the previous week.
“Stock trading data at the IDX during the August 18–21, 2026 period closed on a positive note,” IDX Corporate Secretary Kautsar Primadi Nurahmad said in a written statement on Friday, August 21, 2026.
Exchange data showed that market capitalization grew 1.83 percent to Rp11,449 trillion, up from Rp11,243 trillion a week earlier.
Average daily trading volume on the exchange posted the highest gain, surging 47.90 percent. This week’s average daily trading volume reached 50.30 billion shares, up from 34.01 billion shares in the preceding week.
Additionally, average daily trading frequency stood at 2.21 million transactions. That figure rose 5.52 percent compared to 2.09 million transactions last week. Meanwhile, average daily transaction value climbed 2.36 percent to Rp15.57 trillion from Rp15.21 trillion the prior week.
Foreign investors posted a net buy of Rp974.58 billion on Friday, August 21, 2026. Year-to-date, however, foreign investors have recorded a net sell of Rp70.64 trillion.
